Kandangan, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Acting Regent of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Dahnial Kifli said to overcome electrofishing, he will optimize all efforts with the police, and hope the problem at Bangkau Lake to be quickly handled.


"The electrofishing problem has been cross-district, so it must be solved together, and there is an order from South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor to resolve this matter immediately," he said while visiting Bangkau Village, Kandangan Subdistrict, Tuesday (3/7).

Dahnial Kifli said as the newly inaugurated acting regent, he need to make a relationship with the citizens as well as to see the geographical conditions in the district.

Bangkau Village Head Ardiansyah said when approaching dry season the activity of many residents centered on Lake Bangkau, but the problem is when outsiders also move there, fishing with a fish shocker tool that is prohibited.

According to him, fish stunners are active at night to hide their illicit activities. In addition to harming local fishermen, these electrofishers not infrequently did violence against citizens who caught their activities.
 
Both residents, HSS government and the police have been trying hard to keep Lake Bangkau from the electrofishers, but they seemingly endless. Every dry season they start again doing the fish stunning.

"We, on behalf of Bangkau and surrounding residents hope that the police can add personnel to maintain this Lake Bangkau and provide a sense of security for citizens in fishing," he said.
