Banjarmasin, S Kalimatan (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) has set 11 categories to be competed in the XVIII National Student Quran Recital Contest (MTQMN) 2025 which will be hosted by Lambung Mangkurat University (ULM) in South Kalimantan.
"In addition to time set for October 6-9, 2025, the competition categories have also been decided," said ULM Rector Professor Ahmad Alim Bachri in Banjarmasin, Friday.
The categories are Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (TQ), Musabaqah Tartil Quran (TL), Musabaqah Qiraat Sab'ah (QS), Musabaqah Hifzhil Qur’an 10 Juz (HQ10), 20 Juz (HQ20), and 30 Juz (HQ30).

Then Musabaqah Khaththil Quran (KQ) or Quranic calligraphy contest for decoration and contemporary groups, Musabaqah Fahmil Quran (FQ), Musabaqah Syarhil Quran (SQ), and Scientific Writing Competition for the Contents of Quran (KTIQ).
Next is Scientific Debate Contest on the Contents of Quran in Arabic (DA) and English (DI), the Al-Quran Computer Application Design Contest (DAQ), and Prophet Muhammad Mualid Book Reading Contest (MMN).
To find the best participants, the XVIII MTQMN goes through pre-national selection to recruit students from various universities before competing at the national level at ULM.
Alim said that MTQMN aims to support the development of student achievement, implementing the Impact Campus concept, and to foster Quranic character for Indonesian students.
With full support from the government, leadership communication forum (Forkopimda), and academic community, Alim hopes that this event will not only be dignified competition, but also a momentum to strengthen national and Islamic values in student life.
He underlined that the trust as a host is a great mandate, and ULM ready to make a real contribution in forming a Quranic generation that has a broad insight and ready to build the future of the nation.
"We are committed to provide the best services with adequate facilities and conducive academic and spiritual atmosphere for participants," he said.
