Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The long-nosed proboscis monkey now began to thrive in the conservation area in Tapin District, South Kalimantan.
Deputy External Affair of PT AGM Budi Karya Yugie in Banjarmamsin on Friday said, despite current efforts to reforest the protected areas after landfire in the drought sometime ago has not managed optimally, but does not significantly affect the typical animals of Kalimantan.
"Currently some proboscis seemed to carry their still small children. This may be a sign that the protected animals can thrive in the conservation," he said.
According to Budi, to accelerate efforts to reforest the conservation area the company deployed about ten workers a day to plant trees. In addition, the company also cooperates with researchers from IPB to determine the right type of tree for the area.
Related readiness conservation area for tourists, according to Budi, until now had not been prepared for visitors for lot numbers, but it had received visit in limited quantities, such as students for purposes of study.
"The plan early next year already receive visitors. The fire anyway made the plan was postponed, because the preparations is necessary," he said.
According to Budi, the company is committed to make this conservation area be a vehicle of education for public and for the world of education.
"That's why we apply concept to make it the natural area for proboscis monkeys and other animals," he said.
