Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan re-installed Diesel Power Plant (PLTD) from Riau with a capacity of 20 megawatts to cover the deficit in these two provinces.
General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Purnomo in Banjarmasin on Sunday said previously on Monday (28/3) 30-megawatt diesel power engines relocated from Bali successfully supplied electrical system in the two provinces, now PLN prepared for the installation of the 20 megawatts engine from Riau.
The machines delivered in two stages. Four container engine units in the first stage has been mounted on the complex of PLTD Trisakti Banjarmasin, and three other units installed in the complex PLTD Kapuas.
However, he added, a second stage delivery constrained by damage of freighter. Freighter replacement has been done, then PLN will immediately carry out mobilization to diesel Trisakti and Kapuas.
"We are targeting in the end of this month the whole diesel system enter the network and supply electrical power to the electrical system of South and Central Kalimantan," he said.
PLN is determined to accelerate to overcome the crisis or deficit of electric power in South and Central Kalimantan occured in the past three months.
Several strategic measures such as accelerating operational of Pulang Pisau 2x60 megawatt steam-fueled power plant (PLTU)and the acceleration of the work path 150 kilovolt transmission that will deliver power from PLTMG (gas engine power plant) Bangkanai with a capacity of 155 megawatts.
