Jakarta (ANTARA) - The community must help control and tackle the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 that causes COVID-19 during Christmas and New Year, according to the spokesperson for the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Professor Wiku Adisasmito.
"Everything depends on our efforts to control it. The collaboration between the community, police, and event organizers to conduct events with health protocols is a form of mutual cooperation," he said during a dialogue entitled “Christmas and New Year Readiness” here on Monday.
He added that the government has issued regulations for domestic and foreign travelers, which have been outlined in circular numbers 24 and 25 of 2022 concerning the importance of booster vaccination for travelers.

He said that the provision has been integrated with the PeduliLindungi application for public places, including terminals, airports, ports, and stations.
"If people meet the requirements, they likely will not encounter obstacles to travel. Besides completing vaccination, they must be in a good health as well," Adisasmito added.
He said that the managers of tourist attractions are required to implement the health protocols at their respective facilities, including by asking security personnel to carry out health screening properly to filter people entering the place.
"It is a shared responsibility. Do not put it only on the apparatus or law enforcement but ensure that the community also takes part by implementing the health protocols," he emphasized.
