Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A joint team of Batumandi Criminal Police, Balangan and Barabai Police caught a thief who stole ironwoods from bridges and Batumandi Village Hall.
"The perpetrator was arrested by combined team after reports from residents related to ironwoods stolen from bridge and village hall," said Chief of Public Relations Section of Balangan Resort Police Aiptu Piktrus Purba here on Saturday.
He said the arrest can be fast because it supported by informations from witnesses, so that the perpetrator H aka D (32), resident of the Batumandi, caught.
D was captured in Barabai, Central Hulu Sungai (HST), at around 22:00 last week.
"Actually there are two thiefs. Another named YL has fled to East Kalimantan," he told AntaranewsKalsel.
Piktrus said the suspects stole 20 pieces of ironwood with a size of 2x20 cm with a length of four meters from the bridge.
The suspect was also involved in the theft of a motor vehicle on March 24, 2016, he said.
Now the perpetrator has been handed to the Balangan police station to undergo the legal process.
