Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Manpower stated that the 2022 wage subsidy assistance (BSU) disbursement process for 4.36 million people would commence on Monday, September 12, 2022.
"Inshallah (if God wills), the BSU fund of Rp600 thousand (per beneficiary) can be taken in stages starting next Monday according to the Himbara banks (state-owned banks) operations. I reiterate that this first phase (disbursement) is for BSU recipients, who already have Himbara banks' accounts," Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Anwar Sanusi noted in a written statement received here on Friday.
Sanusi remarked that as of Friday night, the ministry had processed the disbursement of the first phase of wage subsidy assistance for 4.36 million workers or laborers, with a budget of Rp2.61 trillion.
"The fund has been forwarded to Himbara banks, as the channeling banks, through KPPN (the State Treasury Services Office) to be further distributed to the recipients of the first phase (disbursement) of BSU," he explained.

Earlier, the Manpower Ministry had received data of 5.09 million prospective beneficiaries of the 2022 BSU from the Workers Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan). The ministry then verified and matched the data of the prospective beneficiaries for the first phase of disbursement before they were designated as recipients of the 2022 BSU.
He said a process of verification, validation, and matching of data is needed in accordance with the criteria set in the Manpower Minister Regulation on the 2022 BSU as an effort to maintain target accuracy and accountability.
After the process, as many as 4.36 million workers have been selected as recipients of the first phase disbursement of the 2022 BSU.
"We understand that the 2022 BSU is highly anticipated by workers/laborers. However, apart from being fast, we must also maintain the principles of right on target and accountability of this program. I thank workers/laborers, who have been patient in waiting for the disbursement of the 2022 BSU," Sanusi remarked.
