Jakarta (ANTARA) - The indicative budget ceiling for the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is set at Rp3.31 trillion for 2023, down by 17.63 percent, from Rp4.020 trillion in 2022.
"The 2023 indicative ceiling falls by 17.53 percent as compared to 2022," Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno stated at a working meeting with the House of Representatives' Commission X, accessed in Jakarta on Thursday.
This year, the ministry received an additional budget of Rp337.63 billion to anticipate global economic uncertainty that may affect the national economic stability.
"We are facing a global upheaval wherein food and energy prices are expected to increase sharply. That is the reality that we must face together," he remarked.
The ministry will make constant efforts to revive the tourism and creative economic sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, he affirmed.

"We will continue to improve performance through hard work, smart work, complete work, and sincere work," he stressed.
Meanwhile, Chief of the House's Commission X Syaiful Huda urged the ministry to present a map of problems faced by the tourism and creative economy sector in 2021 and 2022. The map of problems is important to conceive the draft of the 2023 state budget, so that a resume of sufficient budget ceiling can be made.
"We also encourage the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry to maintain tourism and creative economic players' programs, tourist village development programs, and simulation programs for the tourism and creative economic players," he remarked.
