Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) cooperates with Traveloka, a technology company involved in the travel sector, to develop Indonesia's digital talents by holding several skill-based trainings at various levels.
In his statement, Minister of Communication and Informatics Johnny G. Plate noted that this aims to expedite the national digital transformation agenda. Without adequate digital talents, the digital space will not be optimal.
The company will partake in basic skill programs in 2022, he noted after meeting with the corporation's president, Caesar Indra, on the sidelines of the World Economy Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Tuesday.
Plate deemed it important to disseminate information on digital technology for the Indonesian economy.
The aim is to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship, so that all Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia can become technologically skilled.
"This helps the government in expediting digital transformation and to raise the interest of Indonesia's young entrepreneurs to delve into digital business," the minister noted.
"It needs to be emphasized that the potential of Indonesia's digital economy is extraordinarily large," he affirmed.
Digital economy has provided a positive contribution for three consecutive quarters in 2020, Plate pointed out.
Moreover, Indonesia's digital economy valuation constitutes 40 percent of the valuation of entire Southeast Asia.

During the meeting, the minister also encouraged technology companies in Indonesia to prioritize domestic products to strengthen the national digital economy.
To support the digital transformation agenda, the ministry develops digital resources in Indonesia through the Digital Talent Program.
The program has multiple levels that comprise basic digital skills that had provided training to 12.6 million participants, intermediate-level digital skills that reached 223 thousand participants in 2021, and advanced digital skills for 370 participants.
