Martapura, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Banjar Regent Saidi Mansyur handed over assistance to tornado victims in Penggalaman Village, Martapura Barat Sub-district, Saturday.
The Regent was accompanied by Head of South Kalimantan Social Agency Siti Nuriyani, Deputy Regent Said Idrus Al Habsyie, Head of Banjar Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Irwan Kumar, Head of Banjar Social Agency Ahmadi, head of sub-district, and police chief.
"We ask the residents who are victims of the tornado to be patient with the ordeal and the assistance we provide can hopefully ease the burden of living necessities," said the regent when handing over aid to residents.

Head of South Kalimantan Social Agency Siti Nuriyani said that her agency would seek assistance in the form of building materials to be proposed to the Ministry of Social Affairs.
"We are trying to ask assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs in the form of building materials for houses. Hopefully, the ministry to approve it so we can distribute to disaster victims who will be recorded," he said.
Chief of Penggalaman Village (locally known as Pambakal) Nur Ifansyah said the number of houses that suffered heavy, moderate, and light damage due to the disaster was 26.
"26 houses were damaged, with details of 15 heavily damaged, 5 moderately damaged, and 6 lightly damaged with the number of families affected 31 consisting of 71 people," he said.
