Muara Teweh, C Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Wing Air with ATR 72-600 aircraft will open Muara Teweh- Banjarmasin flight service starting May 3, 2021, an official said.
"MoU between North Barito government through a regional company and Wing Air will soon take place," said Head of Haji Muhammad Sidik Airport Endang Setiawan in Muara Teweh, Friday.
The flight from Haji Muhammad Sidik Muara Teweh Airport to Syamsudin Noor Banjarmasin Airport is planned to be three times in a week, namely every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
"Our (HM Sidik) airport facilities is good, runway, and apron taxi are indeed suitable for ATR 72-600 with a capacity of 70 passengers," said Endang, who was accompanied by Head of North Barito Transportation Agency Fery Kusmiadi.
Regarding ticket price, Endang said, "The authority of subsidized flight contract lies with Wing Air and the regional government. Our authority is on the preparation of facilities and infrastructure. The point is HM Sidik Airport is ready to be used and serve."
However, he added that Banjarmasin-Muara Teweh will be expensive because there is an airport tax in Banjarmasin. While in Muara Teweh there is UPBU (government).
"Insya Allah (God Willing) the flight will start on May 3, and media please promote so the public will know a lot. We also will post announcements at some other airports," said Endang.
Haji Muhammad Sidik Airport currently serves subsidized flight for Susi Air pioneering aircraft for Muara Teweh-Palangka Raya route, and reguler non-subsidized flight Muara Teweh-Banjarmasin, with the same frequency three times a week.
