Batulicin, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Tanah Bumbu District Government, South Kalimantan, provided logistical assistance to victims of a whirlwind in the Kusan Hulu Sub-district.
Head of the Tanah Bumbu Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) Eryanto Rais here on Monday said the assistance provided was in the form of rice, instant noodle, cooking oil, canned fish, tea boxes, coffee, canned milk, sugar, soy sauce, and bottled chili sauce.
"The disaster occurred a few days ago. Alhamdulillah no one died," said Eryanto.
Based on the BMKG South Kalimantan forecast, he said, extreme weather could happen in several areas, including in Tanah Bumbu, in March.
According to him, there are many potential disasters in Tanah Bumbu, including floods, tornadoes, and fires.
"BMKG forecasted that nowadays the intensity of rain accompanied by lightning and strong wind is more frequent to occur. People must be wary to natural disaster," he said.
"If a tornado occurs, flee the house immediately and find a safer place to avoid the disaster," he said.
