Provincial Gov Grant Unlam Rp4,4 Billion

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - South Kalimantan Provincial government grants University of Lambung Mangkurat (Unlam) Rp4, 4 billion to help improve the quality of local education. 

South Kalimantan Governor Rudy Ariffin here on Tuesday said that the grant was given to improving the quality of education of this oldest university in South Kalimantan. 

"Every year, provincial government provides support to educational improvement of Unlam, whether physical, such as construction of dentistry faculty, as well as in the form of grants," Rudy said after preparatory socialization of Civitas National Accreditation Board for Higher Education in the hall of the Rectorate Unlam Banjarmasin. 

In 2010, the provincial government gave Unlam a grant of Rp22,4 billion, then in 2011 with Rp10 billion, Rp7,15 billion in 2012, and in 2013 amounted more than Rp9 billion and the lalamst is Rp4, 4 billion in 2014. 

The governor said the provincial government still provide assistance, either to Unlam or IAIN Antasari, which providing supervision to faith-based private universities. 

According to the governor, the increase in human resources has become one focus of development in South Kalimantan, considering only the human resources better, then the growth rate of development, economic and health will be much better. 

Rector Unlam HM Ruslan revealed, these funds will be used in accordance with needs, especially to improve the quality of education and lecturers. Some efforts to improve the quality of education by UNLAM, such as teeth course into the tooth faculty, strengthening economic courses and programs S3 to 30 educators.
