Banjarmasin , South Kalimantan ( Antaranews ) - State owned port operator Pelindo III, also known as Indonesia Port Corporation (IPC), participated in waste handling in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan provincial capital.
Head of Public Relations of Banjarmasin City Government, Kurnadiansyah, confirmed the IPC III helped the municipal government handling waste matter. It assistance through the Sanitation Agency in the form of two trucks and nine tosa (three-wheelers), he said to the press on Wednesday.
According to Kurnadiansyah, Banjarmasin city government particularly through the Sanitation Agency always try to solve the problem of waste in the city whose nicknamed "a thousand rivers". However, the city government efforts require cooperation and support of various stakeholders such as business community, media, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and ofcourse the people of Banjarmasin.
The Banjarmasin Branch of Pelindo III who conduct its operations in the city concerned in efforts and programs that are being implemented by Banjarmasin city government .
The Pelindo III Director of Financial Wahyu Suparyono accompanied by General Manager of Banjarmasin Branch of Pelindo III Toto Heliyanto submitted the grant which was part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
The delivery of aid received by Deputy Mayor HM Irwan Ansari who accompanied by the Regional Secretary Zulfadli Gazali in the Kayuh Baimbai hall on Tuesday (24/12).
Wahyu Suparyono said, this aid is a form of the company's concern in supporting Banjarmasin to become national and even international tourist destination. "To realize Banjarmasin as a tourist destination is certainly starting to realize the cleanliness in the city, because if you do not clean people would be reluctant to visit here," he said.
