Barabai, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Regent of central Hulu Sungai (HST) HA Chairansyah issued a circular to urge residents not to light up fireworks on New Years Eve (NYE).
In his circular No.100/2269/PEM/2019 dated December 30, 2019, he noted, in order to maintain order and security in the HST Regency in welcoming new year 2020, all parties are appealed to pay attention to the following matters:
All citizens to prioritize religious activities in each place of worship according to their respective religious teachings as well as other beneficial activities that strengthen good relation with all residents in the neighborhood
Do not light or burn fireworks, firecrackers, wild ride, and doing activities that can disturb the comfort of the surrounding environment.

For all citizens not to carry out activities or actions that are not beneficial or not in accordance with religion, culture, customs and local abilities
Considering the importance of this matter, all subdistricts should forward this circular to the urban village and village head to be conveyed to the community.
Separately, HST Police Chief Adj Sr comr (AKBP) Danang Widaryanto also urged the community to jointly maintain a safe, comfortable, orderly and peaceful atmosphere.
"May we welcome this new year with a cool atmosphere of peace and happiness for all elements of society," he said.
