Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (Antaranews) - As many as 197 villages in South Kalimantan received funding from the 2013 state budget, respectively Rp250 million through the Rural Infrastructure Development Acceleration Program (PPIP).

"Building Indonesia now has to be from the village, no longer from the city. As the Banggar chairman, I continue to push the government to provide more programs and budgets for the villages," said Memed.
According to Memed, all this time the House of Representatives and the government attention to the villages was not maximized, especially in terms of infrastructure, while urban areas received much attention.
These conditions occur, because the urban infrastructure, especially for road status are state roads, provincial roads, and city or county roads. With the status of the road, it was very easy to get funding for urban infrastructure improvements.
On the other hand, rural roads still in damaged condition. Due to the weak financial capacity of the village, It is difficulty of building infrastructure in the region.
"Approximately 50 percent of the infrastructure in the rural in a badly damaged condition, by contrast of natural resources coming from rural make money for the center. So villages should get more attention," he said.
Related to the PPIP program for 197 villages in South Kalimantan, according to Memet, the Rp250 million fund will be given directly to the village which will be managed by village heads and community for the construction of rural roads and irrigation.
