Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Cement maker PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk (ITP) has helped people who experienced clean water shortage by supplying water with tank trucks.
PT ITP Plant Tarjun's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Agus Rifani here on Saturday said the target of distribution is the the company's fostered village.
"We routinely distribute water twice a day using tanker and fire truck with a capasity of 5.000 liter per unit," he remarked.

The clean water from ITP distributed to Pamsimas (Community-based water supply and sanitation) tanks in Tarjun Village, Kotabaru.
He said, because of no rains for a long time villagers wells dried up and people have difficulties getting clean water for daily needs.
"For the time being we serve Tarjun Village, later Langadai village will follow," Agus said.

While most villages suffer water crisis during the dry season, on the contrary the Bumi Asih villagers in Kelumpang Utara Sub-district, Kotabaru, have abundant of water.

Chief of the village, Supardi told, two of six of its reservoir, each with a size of 40x50 meter, and 8 meter deep, contain quite a lot of water. "Insya Allah enough to be distributed to Bumi Asih Village residents in a few months until rain season comes," he said.
