Banjarmasin, (Antaranews, South Kalimantan) – South Kalimantan House of Representative (DPRD) through Commission III carry out a comparative study to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), in order to learn an integrated solar electric systems (PLTS).

"Reportedly integrated solar systems in NTB is fair and forward, so  we are willing to learn," said Ibnu Sina, a member of Commission III who is also in charge of South Kalimantan mining and energy (including electricity) before the study visit to the province on Wednesday (10/4).

"We hope the results of a study visit to the NTB, will enhance South Kalimantan, in this case the Mines Agency (Distam) to do a better management of the solar maximum," continued this politician of Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (PKS).

It is because Distam well being and still be managing for solar lighting to people in areas that have not been or is not possible and affordable of electricity.

South Kalimantan with a total area about 37,000 km2 also has many remote areas, both on the mainland and an island, that has not been served with electricity, especially from PLN, the State-Owned Enterprises that provide the electricity.

"We hope, through the provision of solar projects, remote areas can also enjoy light, though not through a network of electricity," said former activists of Islamic Students Association (HMI).
