Tanjung, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Recognizing the importance of character education, since 2011 the Adaro Bangun Negeri Foundation has consistently applied Character Based Holistic Education (PHBK) in collaboration with the Indonesia Heritage Foundation.
Through the Adaro Program, Turning on Science, it has been provided guidance to 85 PAUD (early childhood education center) in South and Central Kalimantan, starting from Tabalong, Balangan, East Barito, Banjar, Barito Kuala to Muara Tuhup.
Hundreds of teachers are trained in applying the concept of PHBK through appropriate education learning for children by referring to 9 pillars of character formation.
Before that the introduction of the concept of PHBK was given to 1,000 PAUD teachers in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan.
The concept of PHBK aims to form a holistic whole character, by developing aspects of all students physical, emotional, social, creative, spiritual and intellectual optimally and forming human lifelong learners.
"PHBK is in accordance with the development of the child's age. One of the implementations is not always loudly instructing students to focus on learning,” said PAUD Banua Firdaus assisted by YABN in Tabalong, Meldawati.
She explained that with the concept of holistic character education, students are able to be more independent, responsible, and tolerant.
