26 people have so far been registered to receive free cleft surgery provided by South Kalimantan Police to be performed on June 18, 2019.
"We open registration to people to get a free cleft surgery, cause the National Police headquarters targets to reach about 30 patients, " said Heaf of South Kalimantan Police's Dept of Health and Medical dr Erwinn Zainul Hakim in Banjarmasin, Thursday.
According tom him, the free cleft surgery is a form of attention of the National Polices Health and Medical Center (Pusdokkes), who work with Indonesian Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Association (PABMI).
Nationally it targets 500 patients to get free cleft surgery and choose 16 out of 34 Bhayangkara Hospital in Indonesia to perform the surgery.
"Alhamdulilah Bhayangkara Hoegeng Imam Santoso Banjarmasin Hospital is trusted to perform it. Insya Allah we are ready," Erwinn pointed out.
Related to the shift of patients later from each region, he claimed to ask for the help of the local resort chief of police to pick up patients and their families to Banjarmasin.
"Because patients and their families also need at least a day to stay at Bhayangkara Hospital. So we have to make sure the guarantee for the patient's family is comfortable while in Banjarmasin," he added.
