Haji Muhammad Nur, who was elected as a member of the House of Representative (DPR-RI) from the South Kalimantan II constituency, stated he would continue to fight for the development of the Pulau Laut Strait Bridge, Kotabaru.


"Even though later I may not sit on the commission in charge of bridge development, I will continue and continue to fight for the Kotabaru bridge," said the Gerindra Party politician here on Sunday.

"The struggle can be through friends of one faction in the commission in the House of Representatives in charge of the construction of the infrastructure or the bridge," said the legislator whose holding the Islamic bachelor degree.

While Gerindra in South Kalimantan won two out of 11 quota members of the DPR-RI for a province consisting of 13 districts and cities and a population of more than four million people.

According to the member of Commission III for the Development and Infrastructure of the South Kalimantan DPRD, the existence of the Kotabaru bridge is not only the desire of the local community, but also has other important or strategic meanings.

"The Kotabaru Bridge, in addition to accelerating transportation, it will open up the isolation of the eastern region of South Kalimantan, and in turn develop the regional economy," he said.

On the anniversary of Nusantara Day several years ago, President Joko Widodo stated that he wanted to make Kotabaru a base to support the maritime resilience of the archipelago of eastern Indonesia, said the man who is usually called Mad Nur.
