The South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Trade Office in collaboration with the South Kalimantan Industry and Trade Agency held a discount market in Amawang Kiri Village, Kandangan Sub-district.
Head of the South Kalimantan Department of Industry and Trade Agency Dina Aulia here on Thursday (4/4) said this low-price market was one of the programs to provide convenience to the community to fulfill their needs, such as sugar, cooking oil and rice at low prices.
"This discount market has several stages, first ahead of Ramadan, the second ahead of Eid al-Fitr, then ahead of Eid al-Adha and cheap markets ahead of Christmas and New Year," he said.
The first phase of the discount market will be held 17 times in all regencies and cities throughout South Kalimantan. While four times in HSS by cooperating with several distributors from Bulog as well as modern retailers.
Meanwhile, Head of HSS Trade Agency M Sufiani said it would carry out 15 times the low-cost market ahead of Ramadhan spread across 11 sub-districts in the district.
"The goods sold are subsidized Rp.2 thousand to Rp.3 thousand per item from third parties who participate in cheap markets," he said.
