Banjarmasin's DPRD is gave away the waste from a garbage bank, as much as 400 kilograms of waste of economic value to people with disabilities in the city.

The DPRD Speaker Hj Ananda at the city council building on Monday said, this social contribution was in the context of charity donations to commemorate the World Down Syndrome Day.

According to this Golkar politician, garbage donation is the first activity launched in South Kalimantan, which will be activated every 17th, with a different theme.

"It happens that the DPRD has its own garbage bank, thus the Healthy City Forum (Forum Kota Sehat) Banjarmasin asked for the provision of a place to collect garbage which will later be donated to people with disabilities," he said.

Ananda acknowledged, Banjarmasin was indeed a pioneer in the implementation of waste charity activities in South Kalimantan. Hopefully, in the future this can be adopted by other cities.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Forum Kota Sehat Faturrahman greatly appreciated the involvement of the DPRD in the donation of garbage and this activity was nothing but to help disability by cooperating with a number of institutions.

"This garbage has a rupiah value. Meanwhile, there are 15 agencies involved in this activity, namely hotels, banks, BUMD and BUMN, outside the City Government and DPRD," he said.
