Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - About 600 dirt bike (motor trail) riders engaged in One Day Adventure (locally called Saharian Behayau) held by Tabalong government to mark its 53rd anniversary, Saturday.
Regent Anang Syakhfiani saw them off from the start line in Pertamina football field, Tanjung. They came from South Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, and East Java.
"This activity greatly enlivened the celebration of the Tabalong anniversary and could be an annual event," explained Anang.
Chief Committee Comr Wildan Albert said this event is to channel the creativity of two-wheeled motorbike sports enthusiasts. They, he said, were treated to a fun and challenging route by crossing the area of oil palm plantations, Pertamina roads, and villages.
"Through adventure motorbike, we also want to introduce panoramas and natural resources in Tabalong," Albert explained.
According to him, the committee also set aside funds from the registration fee of participants to help orphanages and places of worship.
Data from the committee 650 participants took part. From South Kalimantan 348 riders, from Central Kalimantan 202 riders, East Kalimantan 90 riders, Sulawesi 6 riders and East Java 4 riders.
While prizes have been prepared were 6 motorbikes, one of which is the Honda CRF 150 cc, and dozens of other attractive prizes.
