Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani and Deputy Mayor Darmawan Jaya Setiawan became the guarantors for the suspension of detention of officials and former officials detained on suspicion of corruption.
"I and the mayor's deputy are guarantors of the detention suspension for both. The guarantee letter has been signed by deputy mayor," Nadjmi said in Banjarbaru, Monday.
Previously, AA, who still active in the Banjarbaru City regional secretariat and AJ, who retired a few years ago, were detained by the Banjarbaru Prosecutors Office (Kejari). Both were allegedly involved in corruption while serving in the Transportation Agency and caused state losses of about IDR 1 billion due to parking fees.
According to the mayor, guarantees of detention suspension are given because both are well-behaved officials and have never made mistakes when carrying out their duties.
"We hope that both of them will be suspended and undergo city custody. The legal proceedings will continue according to the rules and regulations," Nadjmi said, acknowledging that he was concerned and shocked to find out that they were detained on suspicion of corruption.
