Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews) - Attorney General HM Prasetyo brought along five surgeons to support the implementation of social services for hernia and cataract surgeries in South Kalimantan.


"I appreciate the doctors who at any time are willing to be invited to give a touch of assistance to the community in the implementation of this free operation," Prasetyo said in Banjarbaru, Saturday.

In addition to the surgeon, the Attorney General also brought a number of anesthetists who worked simultaneously performing cataract and hernia operations for two days, Friday and Saturday (26-27/10).

The hernia operation itself was registered to break the record of the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) as the most hernia operation in a day and MURI Deputy Director Osmar Sementa Susilo was present to submit the MURI award which was planned to be on Sunday (10/28).

The committee from the South Kalimantan Prosecutor's Office noted that 42 people were registered as hernia surgery patients at the Banjarbaru Idaman Hospital. Whereas cataract surgery patients in the Banjarbaru District Attorney's office were 230 people.

For the team of local doctors, the South Kalimantan Health Service fielded the best doctors from Banjarmasin Ulin General Hospital, Dr. HM Ansari Saleh Hospital, and Banjarbaru Idaman Hospital.

The Attorney General said the social service is a form of concern and the presence of the state in the community by the Attorney General's Office.

"We have this program and thank God it has been implemented in a number of regions. Besides in South Kalimantan, also in Surabaya, Wonogiri, Sukabumi, Lampung, Palangkaraya, and Riau Islands," he explained.
