Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Central Kalimantan will get additional electricity through a new and renewable energy (EBT) source so it strengthens the electricity supply of two provinces in Kalimantan.
     

The Power Purchase Agreement (PJBTL) had been signed by GM of PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Sudirman with an investment of Rp36.9 billion.

"The signing was done by GM PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Sudirman with President Director of PT Sawit Graha Manunggal Budi Purwanto," PLN's Public Relations Bayu Arswenda said in a press release on Friday.

The signing of the 1 Megawatt (MW) Tamiyang Layang Biogas (PLTBg) Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was conducted at the PLN headquarters in Jakarta witnessed by the Director of Electricity Business Building Hendra Iswahyudi and PLN Business Director for Kalimantan Regional Machnizon Masri.

In addition to the Tamiyang Layang Biogas Power Plant (PLTBg), also signed the Power Purchase Agreement for Hydroelectric Power Plant (PLTA) Sita-Borong 2x0.5 MW in East Manggarai District, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

According to Machnizon, the EBT development program is a priority because it can reduce the use of fuel oil (BBM), especially in the generation.

"All of this is a manifestation of the company's mission to run an environmentally-oriented business, which is expected to benefit the entire community as well as the development of tourism in Central Kalimantan and NTT," he said.
