Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - South Kalimantan Regional Police sent 35 tons of various goods to Central Sulawesi, which was hit by earthquake and tsunami.
"This assistance is a form of concern for our brothers in Central Sulawesi and certainly very beneficial for the victims," said South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Inspector General Yazid Fanani, Friday.
The assistance was in the form of rice 7.3 tons, instant noodles 2,285 boxes, cooking oil 729 boxes, sugar 2,389 kg, tea, and coffee 974 boxes, milk 296 boxes, baby diapers 445 boxes, baby food 341 boxes, sanitary napkins 344 boxes, snacks 1,710 boxes, mineral water 894 boxes, sardines 748, and clothes, blankets and towels totaling 573 Koli (bale).
All relief items were loaded into five large trucks sent to Palu through the seaport in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
The South Kalimantan Regional Police and its 13 sector police also collected donations worth Rp1.3 billion from all ranks, Bhayangkari (police wives) and the community who contributed to the Police.
"Thank God we are grateful to all who care and contribute donations of property and money. Hopefully what we give can meet the needs of victims who are still many in refugee camps," Yazid explained.
Previously, the South Kalimantan Regional Police also sent a medical team from the Medical and Health Division (Bid Dokkes) and Bhayangkara Class III Hoegeng Imam Santoso Hospital for humanitarian to Central Sulawesi.
