Tanjung, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - Three miniature of pumping or bobbing pumps are neatly arranged in front of Normansyah (60), a wooden craftsman in Pandan Sari Village, Murung Pudak, Tabalong District, South Kalimantan.


This bespectacled man looks absorbed in cleaning one of his works from the rest of the dirt in the part of the wood has been polished.
 
With a green cloth, Inung, that what people daily call him, prepared three miniature ordered by PT Pertamina EP Aset 5 Tanjung Field.

"One month can usually make three miniatures," said Inung.

One pumping miniature measuring 30×25x30 centimeters said Inung, sold at Rp1,500,000.

As a miniature craftsman since 1986, Inung still uses simple tools. There are supporting equipment, such as generators and grindstone which are assistance from the state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina.

To make pumping miniature, the capital is not too large because teak wood as the main material is available around the village. Residents in the Pandan Sari have many of teak trees and Inung is allowed to use the tree branch for free.

Before pursuing miniature crafts, the man who was born in Murung Pudak used to make a sheath for machetes (machete) or mandau (typical Kalimantan weapons).

His talent was seen in school by making various wooden toys. Although the business is relatively small, his expertise in making wooden crafts attracted the attention of the management of PT Pertamina EP Aset 5 Tanjung Field.
     
Inung, who had worked at PT Hendratna's Forest Concession Rights, eventually became Pertamina's fostered partner.
     
Inung hopes that someday he can have a workshop that is sufficient enough to pour his ideas and creations into craft products that have a sale value.
