Banjarmasin, (Antara) - The Sepeda Nusantara 2018 (the Archipelago Cycling in the city of) "Seribu Sungai" Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, was very lively, followed by 7,000 participants on Saturday.
Among the participants were around 1,500 students, even 70 people with disabilities also took part in the activities organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Therefore, the organizing committee divided the Sepeda Nusantara (Archipelago Cycling) route into three, namely for the public as far as 23 Km, for students around 5 Km, and for persons with disabilities 3 Km.
Mayor H Ibn Sina accompanied by special staff of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Tommy Kurniawan saw-off the grand event. Because it entered in the Banjarmasin City 492nd anniversary series on September 24, 2018.
According to H Ibnu Sina, the Sepeda Nusantara as desired by the President is to increase the interest of the community in bicycle exercise and increase the people's love of sport as part of the Healthy Living Community Movement.
"This Sepeda Nusantara 2018 is an activity of the Ministry of Youth and Sports which is carried out in 34 provinces and 137 districts or cities, one of which is in Banjarmasin," he said.
For the implementation of these activities, Ibn Sina expressed his gratitude to the ministry, which has given confidence to Banjarmasin for the second times.
