Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The consumer economic condition of South Kalimantan is better in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the previous quarter with the Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) reached 105.68.
Head of South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Thursday said ITK is an indicator of economic development generated through the Consumer Tendency Survey (STK).
"The Consumer Tendency Index is a composite index of household perceptions of consumer economic conditions which data collected every quarter by panel," she said.
She remarked the level of consumer optimism in South Kalimantan in the first quarter amounted to 105.68 or increased compared to the fourth quarter of 2017 ITK with the index of 101.32.
The value of ITK which is more than 100 shows South Kalimantan people generally think that South Kalimantan's economic condition is better than the fourth quarter 2017 with difference of 4.36 points.
"The magnitude of perception can not be separated from the three components of the index composer, namely the income, the influence of inflation, and the volume/frequency of household goods and services consumption," she explained.
Components of household income with the index of 104.12 or more than 100, she continued, showed household income in the 2018 first quarter increased from before.
