Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarmasin City Police destroyed as many as 258.42 grams of drugs from criminal narcotic evidence for the past four months.
"Evidence destroyed are obtained from 17 suspects arrested by the Drug Detective Unit (Satresnarkoba)," said the Police Chief Sr Comr Anjar Wicaksana in Banjarmasin on Thursday.
He said during the period of October 2017 to January 2018, Satresnarkoba managed to confiscate narcotics type sabu-sabu weighing 255.55 grams and 10 ecstasy pills weighing 2.87 grams.
"With this disclosure, as many as 1,000 people are saved from drug abuse if it is consumed by the users," explained Anjar accompanied by Head of Drug Unit Comr Herry Purwanto Sik.
Within the last four months, he said, there were some big catches with a considerable amount of evidence. Among them on January 8, 2018, a package of sabu-sabu weighing 49.51 grams from a suspect, Rahmatullah.
On January 31, 2018, Satresnarkoba again managed to seize a package of sabu-sabu weighing 93.51 grams from suspects Rinda Sasmita.
"The destruction that we do is as one form of war against drugs," said Anjar.
Present in the destruction of the evidence, among them, the prosecutor's office, the court, the Banjarmasin Narcotic Agency (BNNP), LKBH, and 17 suspects owners of the goods come to witness.
