Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The defendant of corruption case a former managing director of PDAM Bandarmasih Muslih declared to donate all his severance pay amounting to Rp1 billion to the government-owned water company.

"Because big enough, so all the rest of my salary and severance may be about Rp1 billion and weigh against the PDAM, all I donate for PDAM," Muslih said in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.

He was speaking in a defense memorandum he read in his trial with the defendant Trensis at the Banjarmasin Corruption Court (Tipikor).

According to him, PDAM management can use the remaining salary or severance pay to help the poor and so on.

"Since the PDAM is no longer getting equity capital as a result of this case, so this is what I can help giving all my rights as a charity," he said.

When reading the memorandum of defense, Muslih had shed tears. He looks so devastated by the opinion that developed during his post-arrest by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Moreover, he is said to tyrannical against PDAM customers. Though he said has given the best for customers with the achievement of water connections up to 100 percent of the population of Banjarmasin City through the piping system.

"I got caught up in this blackmailing tragedy, but there is no bit of my intention to give something to the legislative council with the aim to smooth out the Rp50.5 billion draft regulation on equity participation to PDAM," he said before the Presiding Judge Sihar Hamonangan Purba.

Muslih asserted, he tried to refuse to give something on the request of IR and AE suspects. In fact, when several times pressed he continued to refuse on the grounds of equity participation is actually the benefits of PDAM itself is returned to the PDAM by Banjarmasin Municipal Government with capital participation system.

"The position of PDAM itself is very heavy and in the last two years PDAM did not get additional investment from the municipal government," he said.

Muslih also apologized to Trensis and his family who was dragged in this case. Because Trensis must lose his career that has been for 20 years and can still work 3 years more into the future.

At the end of the defense, Muslih only requested waivers to the judges and hoped to remain detained in this area until the verdict scheduled at the hearing of January 30, 2018.
