Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor received Ki Hajar Dewantara Award 2017 from the Ministry of Education and Culture for his concern in developing information and communication technology in the field of education.


Head of South Kalimantan Education and Culture Office HM Yusuf Effendi in Banjarmasin on Wednesday said the award ceremony held on Thursday, November 16, in the ministry in Jakarta.

The award was submitted by the Minister of Education and Culture Muhajir Effendy.

"Alhamdulillah Governor of South Kalimantan is one of four governors in Indonesia who received the Ki Hajar Dewantara Award 2017," he said.

Three other governors who also received similar awards were the Governor of Jambi, Central Java, and East Java.

One important point of assessment is the real support of the head of the region in the expansion of access to quality education by utilizing information communication technology for education.

The success of South Kalimantan to win the award thanks to the hard work of the stakeholders in the field of education, especially Information Technology Communication Center of South Kalimantan, which is focused and measurable in following the prestigious event.

According to Yusuf, to be able to follow the race, the region must follow several stages of selection and meet all administrative and technical requirements.
