Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 1/11 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has recorded South Kalimantan experienced a deflation of 0.42 percent in October 2017.


Head of South Kalimantan BPS Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Wednesday said deflation in Banjarmasin was 0.40 percent, while in Tanjung City it reached 0.74 percent.

"The rate of cumulative inflation in Banjarmasin in October 2017 against December 2016 is 2.99 percent, while the cumulative inflation rate at Tanjung is 0.38 percent," she said.

He mentioned commodities that experienced price decline with the highest share of deflation in Banjarmasin, among others, air transport, haruan fish, eggs of chicken, red onion, and tuna.

Meanwhile, commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share include wet cakes, instant noodles, chicken meat, cooking oil, and all types of pumpkin.

"In October 2017 Banjarmasin experienced a 0.40 percent deflation or a decline in the consumer price index from 130.58 in September to 130.06," she said.

Meanwhile, in Tanjung the commodity that experienced a decrease in price with the highest share of deflation include long beans, kale, chicken meat, and onion.

"Commodities which experiencing price increases with the highest inflation share were puskesmas tariffs, spinach, haruan fish, green mustard, and tamarind," said Head of South Kalimantan BPS.

BPS also recorded 44 cities experiencing inflation and 38 deflation. The highest inflation rate in Kota Tual was 1.05 percent.
