Kotabaru, S Kalimantan 6/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru administration supports agrarian restoration as a solution to the land problems experienced by the community over land that is controlled and managed for generations in the district.


The assertion was conveyed by Vice Chairman of DPRD Kotabaru M Arif on the sidelines of accompanying the delegation of Commission II to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry in Jakarta, Friday.

The working visit was in the framework of consultation to the central government following public unrest in connection with the implementation of Ministry of Forestry Decree No.435/2009 on Appointment of Forest Area of ??South Kalimantan.

"Many people in Kotabaru who have been working on or managing their land and plantation for generations are restless as soon as there is a circular of Decree No. 435/2009," said Arif.

The reason, he continued, if referring to the official map contained in the decree, most of the residents' land, even including their homes, entered in the status of protected forest.

"Therefore, we at the consultation meeting also brought several village heads, among them former village chief of Tirawan, to convey directly to the authorized official in handling this matter," said Arif.

The goal is to be able to listen directly, related problems that exist in the field. So also for the public to know how the answer or solution from the government.

The PPP politician revealed that the land issues related to Decree No. 435/2009 has brought widespread impact in society, especially in Kotabaru.

"Alhamdulillah, from the explanation of the Ministry of Forestry, there is a chance as a solution to this problem, namely agrarian restoration," he said.

The technicality is the community through the village head reporting and proposing the change of land status from forest or protection forest to APL (Other Utilization Area) to the regent, then proceeding to the province.

Next, from the province submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. After going through the process, there will be a change of status of the area.
