Kotabaru, S Kalimantan 16/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - PT Jembatan Nusantara shipping company has prepared KM Awu-Awu to transport passengers of KM Madani Nusantara that ran aground in Suwangi Island, Batulicin, South Kalimantan.


"For passengers who want to continue their journey to Pare-Pare, the company has prepared KM Awu-Awu in Batulicin Nusantara Port," said Branch Chief of PT Jembatan Nusantara Batulicin Suryanto via telephone in Kotabaru on Sunday.

As for the passengers who abandoned to leave and want to refund the ticket are requested to come to the PT Jembatan Nusantara office in Batulicin.

KM Awu-Awu is planned to depart from Nusantara Port Batulicin to Pare-Pare, South Sulawesi, on Monday (17/7).

Head Office of Harbormaster and Port Authority of Batulicin Sarim said KM Madani Nusantara ran aground in coordinate position 03-27-3489 S/116-02-2299 E, about 3.5 NM from Batulicin Port.

"After examination, the starboard of KM Madani Nusantara was torn about four meters. Although there was a torn, but all transport and vehicles remain safe," he said.

KM Madani Nusantara ship is planned to be drawn to the Port of Nusantara Batulicin for repairs.

Previously, Harbormaster and Port Authority of Kotabaru Aprianus Hengky said KM Madani Nusantara is a roll on roll off (roro) passenger ship with a gross tonnage (GT) of 4300 owned by PT Prima Vista.

The vessel departed from Batulicin for Pare-Pare carrying 116 passengers, consisting of 89 adults, 24 children and three babies. It also carrying one vehicle, two medium trucks and four large trucks.
