Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 15/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Trade Agency found 10 commodities that sparked the recent inflation in the district.

Head of Kotabaru Trade Agency H Mahyudiansyah said on Saturday that the commodities that triggered inflation were tuna, fruits, onion and garlic, chicken egg, chicken meat, LPG, beef, cooking oil, electricity, rice and vegetables.

"The goods are mostly brought from outside Kotabaru," he said.

The condition of sea waves became the main trigger of the smooth distribution of these goods from Java Island, Sulawesi, and other areas, to Kotabaru.

In the event of high waves, the ships carrying staples (Sembako) from Java and Sulawesi were prohibited from sailing, consequently the stock of goods in the market was running low.

With the cessation of goods distribution through sea lane, the availability of goods in the market was disrupted and made the price rise.

In addition to the distribution of goods from outside Kotabaru stalled, fishermen in Kotabaru and surrounding areas did not dare to sea to catch fish. that caused fish prices soared.

Mahyudiansyah hopes, inflation in Kotabaru can be controlled from the current conditions, which ranges from 0.59 percent month to month (mtm) and South Kalimantan about 0.33.

According to Mahyudiansyah, in order to control inflation cross sectoral cooperation in the region is necessary.
