Tanjung, S Kalimantan 10/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani said he will help graduates of pesantren (Islamic boarding school) who want to continue their education abroad as a local government support to improve human resources.
"The local government will prepare funds for pesantren graduates to be able to go study for free to the Middle East, such as to Egypt, Yemen, and Medina," said Anang in Tanjung on Monday.
Religious education assistance is a priority as Tabalong's mission and vision that puts religion forward, including inviting all parties to work together to raise pesantren in `Bumi Sarabakawa` (nickname of Tabalong).
According to Anang, education at the pesantren will give birth to generations of smart and knowledgeable in religion.
"I'm sure if Islamic boarding school education is achieved, then inappropriate deeds such as corruption and other destructive behavior will not happen," said Anang.
In addition to scholarships to the Middle East, the district government also prepares assistance for general students and santri (Islamic boarding school student) who want to study to China or to the Faculty of Medicine until Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB).
The scholarship program is supported by PT Adaro Indonesia and its partners through CSR 2017 funds, among them the Regional Delegates Scholarship (BUD) to IPB for 15 students.
