Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Banjarbaru Police in South Kalimantan freed a man with the initials M who committed terror by putting a bomb-like object at the Banjarbaru intersection roundabout on Wednesday (2/6).


Banjarbaru Police Chief Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Kelana Jaya here on Thursday said that the perpetrator was released because of psychiatric or depression problems over his personal problems.

"The culprit is depressed because of psychiatric factors, so we stopped the case and we have sent the person to the Sambang Lihum Mental Hospital," he said.

He said one day after the incident of a suspicious object similar to the bomb at the roundabout Banjarbaru, police secured the man who made the object.

The man who lives in the sub-district of Landasan Ulin, Banjarbaru, was arrested at his family's house in Kandangan about 60 kilometers from Banjarbaru.

"The was secured in Kandangan one day after the incident and we seized some evidence from his home in Ulin, including handwritten bomb threats," he said.

Other evidence seized was a cell phone in which there is a short message containing the threat of bombs sent to the police and SMS center.

He described the motive of acts of terror was because he was not satisfied with the performance of the government, including the performance of the TNI /police.
