Regional police nabs drug dealer Kampung Melayu

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South Kalimantan police of Drug Directorate nabbed a drug dealer who often transact in Kampung Melayu Darat, Central Banjarmasin.

"The perpetrator have been long under surveillance and only now we can catch him," said Head of Sub-directorate 3 of Drug Directorate AKBP Matsari HS, SH in Banjarmasin, Friday.

He said, a drug dealer known as Sahyun (34), is quite slippery so it requires extra work of police to nab the perpetrator.

"To charge the dealer, there should be evidence of drugs available on him. So the moment to obtain this evidence is quite difficult for the perpetrator Sahyun," Matsari said.

The perpetrator who live on Jalan Kampung Melayu Darat, Gang 4, Melayu Urban Village, did not move when he was arrested by the officer during drug deal on the side of Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 1 on Tuesday (9/10) at around 01.00 am.

"When arrested there was a package of sabu-sabu in his hand. With the evidence, it is enough to chargethe perpetrator with Article 114 Paragraph (1) Sub-Article 112 Paragraph (1) Law Number 35 Year 2009 on Narcotics," said the man familiar with the media crew.

He said that Sahyun has been named as suspects and held in detention for further legal process.

To capture the big dealer behind suspect who allegedly play only as the courier, police are still trying to uncover it.

But Matsari acknowledged the network was always cut off from the courier and it became the challenge of his ranks in every disclosure of drug cases in the region.
