“If in the city users can rely on home charging, then for long trips they need access to SPKLU available in strategic location such as airport,” he said.
He explained that the average distance between EV charging in Kalimantan is 41 km, which is considered safe for EV users.
“Electric cars are currently capable of traveling 300 to 600 km on one charge, so the infrastructure we provided is very supportive of comfortable and safe travel,” he said.
SPKLU at Syamsudin Noor Airport provides three charging points, one fast charging with a capacity of 50 kW and two medium charging 22 kW. PLN ensures the safety of charging with IP55 protection that is resistant to pressurized water.
“When the vehicle connected, the system will ensure secure connection before electricity starts flowing. This is a safety standard that we apply to all SPKLU,” said Syauki.
PLN also provides easy payment for EV users through PLN Mobile app, making transaction more practical and transparent.
Meanwhile, Syamsudin Noor Airport Technical Division Head Budhi Rano Sulistyo said that the EV charging is an added value for the airport and the public.
“Hopefully it provides wider benefits for airport users and supports the reduction of carbon emissions in transportation sector,” he said.
