Minister: Promote synergy to conserve environment

Martapura, South Kalimantan 25/3 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar called on all parties to promote the synergy in efforts to conserve the environment so that the condition is always maintained.

"All must work together, especially the government, from the provincial level down to the district and the city," said Siti Nurbaya in commemoration of the 34th Forester Day, Saturday.

The commemoration attended by the minister of was centered at Sultan Adam Public Forest Park, Mandi Angin, Banjar District.

According to the minister, synergy of all parties, both government officials, the public and private sectors, is instrumental in creating the better forest environment.

"Togetherness of all parties in efforts to conserve the environment greatly helped repair of environmental damage, either due to deliberate or natural factors," she said anyway.

She said Sultan Adam Public Forest Park (Tahura) is an evidence of the realization of synergies in the preservation of the environment, which conditions are getting better and maintained its harmony.

"I am pleased that after two years of visiting Tahura Sultan Adam and planting tree seedlings with President Joko Widodo, forests and trees are now more and more," she said.

South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor said the 34th Forester Day is become a new spirit in the preservation of the environment for our children and grandchildren.

"The momentum is become an encouragement for all of us to contribute to save forests and the environment, so children and grandchildren can enjoy its harmony," he said.

Minister in commemoration of the 34th Forester Day performed a number of activities, from releasing participants of cross country and racing mountain in the forest park.

Then became the jury of the photography competition till signing a memorandum of tree planting, inaugurating Tahura ambassador, until the release of South Kalimantan endemic birds.
