Kotabaru Library and Archive Agency launches i-Kotabaru, a digital library program, all at once implementing technical guidance for library staff throughout the district.
"This launch is a big step in supporting digital literacy and making it easier to access reading material for Kotabaru residents, including students, teachers, and the general public," said head of the agency Kamiruddin here on Wednesday.
I-Kotabaru, he said, is a digital library designed to increase people access to knowledge and information resources from various locations.
Kamiruddin underscore the importance of the regional government role in supporting literacy improving in Kotabaru, both in school environment and the village.
He said library is not only a place to store books, but also a center for information and knowledge, which has a strategic role in making nation's life more intelligent.

"With this technical guidance, library staff can improve their competency and professionalism in managing library. They can be more innovative to attract people's interest in reading, especially younger generation in this digital era," he said.
He advised the participants to take part in this activity with enthusiasm and absorb the knowledge provided.
"With better competence, library staff in Kotabaru are expected to be able to support the government's literacy programs and make a real contribution in improving the quality of education and reading culture, by guiding that libraries in Kotabaru are comfortable, safe, and friendly places for all," he hopes.
Regional Library Development Coordinator Sofyan Hamid,also Chief of Executive, said 92 technical guidance participants were managers or administrators of libraries throughout Kotabaru.
"The i-Kotabaru digital library is launched today can be downloaded on Playstore which can be accessed on all android phones," he said.
South Kalimantan Library and Archive Agency's Librarian Arbayah was presented as a resouse person presenting Library Material Processing Admistration, and a lecturer in Islamic Library and Information Science at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin Muhammad delivering Library Management and Component of Library Accreditation.
