Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 1/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded the value of imports in South Kalimantan in December 2016 decreased by 23.30 percent, when compared to the previous month.
"The value of imports during December amounted to 81.46 million US dollars, while in November reached 106.21 million US dollars," said BPS Head Kalsel Diah Utami in Banjarbaru Wednesday.
If compared to the December 2015, South Kalimantan import also decreased by 28 percent when the value reached 113.5 million US dollars.
Throughout 2016, the import value of the province reached 0.94 billion US dollars and it was decreased by 32.42 percent compared to 2015 with a value of 1.39 billion US dollars.
"The highest decline in imports occurred in January which reached 29.98 percent due to a decrease in imports of mineral fuels," he said.
The main commodity imported to South Kalimantan consist of mineral fuels with a value of 73.51 million US dollars, the ship 4.30 million US dollars, and machinery or mechanical appliances 2.11 million US dollars.
"Countries import supplier were Singapore with a value of 47.58 million US dollars, Malaysia 27.07 million US dollars and China with a value of 5.01 million US dollars," she said.
Meanwhile, the export value of South Kalimantan in December 2016 rose to 16.22 percent or 691 million US dollars compared with exports in November amounted to 594.56 million US dollars.
