Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A total of 60,992 household customers of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan are subsidized according to government policy on poverty reduction programs.


General Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Purnomo in Banjarbaru on Sunday said tens of thousands of customers are included in the government main data as subsidy recipients.

"All are the R1 group customers with a power of 900 VA and have been established by a National Team to Accelerate Poverty Eradication  (TNP2K) Secretariat of the Vice President," he said.

He said of the total 636,868 households R1 900 VA customers spread as many as 39,732 customers in South Kalimantan and 21.260 in Central Kalimantan. Their determination as recipients of subsidy is the authority TNP2K refers to a number of indicators as basis in determining subsidized eligibility.

He said PLN as a provider of electricity services only perform tasks according to TNP2K parent data, so it will impose a tariff subsidy to the designated customer.

"According to the government's desire, subsidies will take place in January 2017 and electricity bills automatically regulate the amount of subsidies granted to that customer," he said.

Customer group R1 with 900 VA power will enjoy the basic electricity tariff Rp586 per KwH and calculated usage for one month to the electricity bill.

Implementation rates be phased in three times during the six months, the first phase from January to February 2017 from Rp586 per KwH rate rose to Rp790 per KwH.

The second phase, from March to April rose to Rp1.033 per KwH and the third phase from May to June amounted to Rp1.352 normal applicable rate per KwH for all non-subsidized customers and called R1 900 VA RTM.

"Non-subsidized customers will be free subsidized fully in June, so that those who are otherwise not entitled to a subsidy to pay the basic rate Rp1.352 per KwH," he said.
