The state-owned electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) carried out routine maintenance on a 155 megawatt (MW) Bangkanai Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) to secure a reliable and safe electricity supply during Eid al-Adha 2024.

“We have conducted 40K routine maintenance for six engines from March 18 to May 27, 2024. The Bangkanai PLTMG consists of 16 gas engine with a total capacity of 155 MW,” said Manager of PLN NP UP South-central Kalimantan Ali Anwar in a statement received here on Tuesday.

PLTMG maintenance was carried out to ensure optimum and reliability performance  of power plant in the face of increasing electricity needs during Idul Adha or Eid Al-Adha 2024 celebration.

“We are committed to provide a stable supply of electricity to ensure that people could celebrate Idul Adha comfortably without worrying about electricity disruption,” he said.

After Idul Adha, Ali said, PLN NP UP South-Central Kalimantan will carry out further maintenance at the PLTMG Bangkanai to ensure a long-term performance of the power plant and is targeted to complete in October 2024.

Ensuring the reliable availability of eletricity, according to him, is very important, so it is safer for the people, especially during the religious holidays, such as Eid al-Adha.

Ali assures that the maintenance of PLTMG had been done carefully and on time in accordance with teh applicable schedule and regulation.

“With this routine maintenance, we hope there is no electricity disruption during the celebration of Eid al-Adha,” said Ali.
