Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Engineers' Wife Association (PII) Indonesia South Kalimantan conducting environmental awareness by planting trees in Banua the Botanical Gardens in the local provincial government office area.


Aromatic tree of citrus fruits planting was led by Deputy Chairman of TP PKK I South Kalimantan Rosdeawati and Advisory Board of PIII Central Violet Hatta at the Banua Botanical Gardens on Monday, accompanied by relevant officials.

Chairman of the PII South Kalimantan Rodinah Rasmadi said the planting of trees as a form of participation in preserving the environment, especially plants (flora).

She said the activities pursued by dozens of members of PII South Kalimantan was a realization of the role of the social organizations whose members are wives of engineers in improving service to the nation.

She stressed that the organization's management would like to participate promoting a culture of planting tree seedlings whose benefits are not now, but will be enjoyed by future generations.

"Planting trees in the Banua Botanical Gardens is a proof that PII contributed to preserve the environment in addition to adding a collection of plants in the botanical gardens," he said.

According to him, the type of tree seedlings planted were nine types of citrus plants in the garden which covers 100 hectares of the 500 hectares of the central office.

"Aromatic tree seedlings planted is expected to increase the collection of plants in the Banua Botanical Garden and thrive, so that the greater the benefits for the community," he said.

It is said, all officials including guests and other invitees were involved in planting trees, so overall tree seedlings planted was in hundreds.
