Tunas Harapan Tamiyang Layang Kindergarten teacher Maria invited PAUD teachers and parents to instill character in children from early age through stories and discussions.
"As parents and teachers, we must often invite children to tell stories and discuss," said Maria in front of dozens of other PAUD teachers.
Maria presented a group material related to strategy of instilling character in children at the Training of Trainers (ToT) for core PAUD teachers assisted by Adaro-IHF HSU and East Barito districts at YABN office,Pembataan Urban Village, Tabalong, Tuesday (April 23, 2024).
Maria enthusiastically expounded that the key to successful character education is to be consistent and parents must provide a good example, because children will see and imitate the behavior of their parents.
In less than 10 minutes the presentation of the Tunas Harapan Tamiyang Layang, East Barito, Central Kalimantan, ended and was followed by the performance of Ananda Kindergarten from North Hulu Sungai Regency.

Santi presented material related to parenting and holistic charactger-based education, especialy about the dangers of video games and pornography on children.
She said that children in the past played more outside and interact with other people, but nowadays children play more with gadgets and less interact with the environment.
"The impact is that children become addicted to playing games or gadgets," said Santi.
The performance of the two groups caugh the attention of Indonesia Heritage Foundation (IHF) Training Division Arfida Luthfiyasari.
Arfida was one of resource person in this activity sharing insights related to organizational management of Semai Benih Bangsa Teachers Association (IGSBB) to grow and develop with IGSBB.
There are several benefits of joining IGSBB, including having friends learning PHBK (character based holistic education) in the surrounding area and other regions in Indonesia and getting information on IHF program.
"One of the challange of running IGSBB is fiding someone who is loyal to PHBK and has a leadership spirit," said Arfida.
She and IHF team are committed to implement character education, especially for oneself, family and nation through SBB/PAUD coaching and parenting program throughout Indonesia.
Meanwhile, PIC Adaro PAUD Berkarakter from Adaro Foundation (YABN) Yuliawati said the joint activity with IHF was also held simultaneously at the core PAUD fostered by Adaro including Tanah Laut, Kotabaru (South Kalimantan), South Barito (Central Kalimantan), and Lahat (South Sumatra).
"We also donate one unit of laptop and LCD projector to 12 Adaro-IHF assisted core PAUDs," said Yuliawati.
