Adaro Group, which is committed to implement stunting reduction program, is encouraging the optimalization of joint collaboration with the Balangan, South Kalimantan, government and other parties.

“Adaro feels socially responsible, especially in supporting efforts to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Balangan,” said Chair of Adaro Foundation (YABN) Zuraida Murdia Hamdie here on Monday.

The joint commitment of Adaro Group with stakeholders was to realize the Stunting Free Village Declaration at Balangan stunting discussin on March 25, 2024.

The collaboration involving the driving team of PKK Balangan in the form of assistance to familieas of stunted children in target villages is believed to expedite the reduction of stunting prevalence.

Adaro's and its partners' contribution to the decline of stunting since 2022 was in the form of assistance to 245 stunted toddlers and 46 pregnant women with chronic energy deficiency (KEK) in Balangan. 

The result was an increase in the nutritional status of toddlers and pregnant women with KEK reaching 100 percent and reducing the prevalence of stunting by 43 percent from the previous achievement as proof success of Adaro Group assistance program.

"In 2023 we had conducted intervention in 40 target villages with 100 percent activity achievement," added Zuraida.

Seeing the success of the previous year, Adaro Group will continue its educational training and learnng program to accelerate stunting reduction in 2024.

In addition, Adaro continues to be committed in efforts to accelerate ODF (Open Defecation Free) district to reduce risk of infection due to poor sanitation.

The Stunting Free Village Declaration at Balangan stunting discussin was attended by Head of Adaro's External Relation Division Rinaldo Kurniawan and Head of CSR & CR Department Nico Seniar representing Adaro Group.
